Gail F. Wortley

Gail F. Wortley received his B.S. from Tennessee Tech in 1969. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee in 1972. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army Reserve in 1980 at the rank of Captain. He was admitted to the bar to practice in all courts in the state of Tennessee, the Federal District Court, the United States Bankruptcy Court, and the United States Tax Court.

He has practiced in all areas of the law since 1973, with primary practice in bankruptcy and divorce. He has participated in thousands of bankruptcy cases and divorce cases. His personal interests include activities with his family, boating, baseball, and going to church.
Melissa Wortley Lawing

Melissa Wortley Lawing

Melissa Wortley Lawing graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee in 1996. She received her Juris Doctorate with honors from Western New England College of Law in 2001. She was admitted in 2001 to the bar to practice for all courts in the state of Tennessee and in 2002, she was admitted to the Federal District Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court.

Mrs. Lawing’s areas of practice include chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy, family law, and wills and estates. Mrs. Lawing’s personal interests include hiking, basketball, and spending time with her family.
Robert Cole

Robert Cole

Robert Cole, a Knoxville native, graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1975 and earned his law degree there in 1980. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after three years of active duty. He has been practicing in Knox County and the surrounding counties since 1981. His primary areas of practice include family law and probate. 

Before becoming a Judicial Commissioner for Knox County, he regularly appeared in criminal actions representing clients in Knox, Blount, Union and other counties. His personal interests include family activities, history, and cycling.
Ryan S. Wortley

Ryan S. Wortley

Ryan S. Wortley, was born and raised in Knoxville, TN, and attended the University of Tennessee from which he received his B.S. in 2005. He then attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, FL, and received his Juris Doctorate in 2009. He was admitted to the bar in 2010 to practice in all courts in the state of Tennessee, the Federal District Court, and the United States Bankruptcy Court. 

He is happily married with two children and enjoys watching movies, sports and spending time with family and friends.

Kandi Simpson

Kandi Simpson is a local resident from Sharps Chapel. She attended Union County High School, before continuing her education at the National College of Business and Technology where she got her degree in accounting. She has proudly been with North Knoxville Attorneys for 2 years and always greets our guests with a smile. 

She is a proud mother of 3 children. In her spare time, she loves being a part of her church community, spending time with her family, and reading.
